User groups
User groups enable grouping of Users for the purposes of assigning permissions and Toolbar and Preference customisation.
Every user defined in the system must be assigned to exactly one User Group.

- No practical limit to the number of User groups that can be created
- Permissions can be assigned per User Group for each function
- Default toolbar settings can be defined for users belonging to the User Group
- Default colour preferences can be defined for users belonging to the User Group

Special actions available for users with Administrator permissions:
- Change the User ID of the Entered by field of memos.
- Edit memos entered by other users.
Database rules:
- A User Group cannot be deleted if any Users are assigned to the group in their User group field


This is a list of all user groups that are currently defined. As you click on each of these items, their details will be displayed to the right of the list.
When you are ready to modify or delete a record, ensure that you have selected it in the list before clicking on the Edit or Delete button.

This is the Activity list that will be used for any user belonging to the group that does not already have an Activity list assigned to them.
Every user can have an Activity list defined for them which displays when they log in. If a user does not have an Activity list defined for them, then the Activity list defined for the User’s group will be used (if one is defined).
An Activity list does not have to be assigned for a User Group. If you don’t want a User Group to be assigned an Activity list, select <NONE> from the list in Add or Edit mode.
